Dayton skeleton axial fans are designed for use in dry locations to cool a device or equipment such as copy machines, electronic instrumentation, cabinets or computers. These fans come with mounting arms, in place of a full housing, thereby making them suitable for installation in tight spaces. All these units feature an aluminium alloy frame with polycarbonate fan blades driven by shaded pole motors to deliver speeds and airflow rates up to 3000 RPM and 110 CFM, respectively. They are capable of withstanding a maximum temperature of 70 degrees C and are available in ball and sleeve type bearing variants.

Axial fans are a kind of compressor that improves airflow pressure as it passes through. The fan blades operate by venting air to move parallel to the shaft, which the blades rotate around.
Axial fans are commonly employed to cool both large and small spaces. They can be used in HVAC operations in heat exchange units, AC condensers or for spot cooling in industrial systems.
Centrifugal fans vent air at right angles to the intake of the fan and revolve the air outwards to the outlet by deflection and centrifugal force. Axial fans move the extracted air parallel to the shaft about which the blades rotate.
