Combination Starters

Combination starters are control and protective switching devices for starting, disconnecting and protecting the motor against hazardous and non-hazardous applications. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these IEC-rated starters from brands like Dayton, General Electric and Square D. Dayton motor starters are designed for ON / OFF operations and prevent damages caused by over- and under-voltage conditions, thereby ideal for use with air compressors, pumps and agricultural or food processing equipment. These contactors feature an electromagnet or a coil which forces the contacts to close and allow current flow, when energised. They are also capable of automatically disengaging the contacts if the power fails and can only be resumed by manually flipping a momentary switch. General Electric combination starters are designed for controlling motors without an additional branch circuit protection facility and also used when a high number of circuit operations need to perform simultaneously. These combination motor starters come equipped with a selector switch for switching between hand / off / auto buttons and NEMA 1 and 4X enclosures for preventing access to hazardous parts and the ingress of foreign contaminants.
