Double End Threaded Studs

Double-end threaded studs or rods have threading on both ends and an unthreaded portion at the centre. They are used as connecting rods to join threaded components with different thread sizes in construction, plumbing, metal fabrication and repair applications. Raptor Supplies offers double-end threaded rods from brands like Grainger and TE-CO. Double-end threaded studs can also be bent to act as specialised fasteners like anchor bolts or U-bolts.

Working Mechanism

  • To use a double end threaded stud, first, join the surfaces prepared by drilling holes to match the diameter of the stud.
  • Insert the stud through the holes with the threaded ends protruding from each side.
  • Thread the nuts onto both ends of the stud and then tighten evenly with a wrench or socket.
  • The pressure (applied by the nuts) squeezes the surfaces together, creating a tight and secure joint.
