These nut inserts are easy to install in blind or through-hole applications and provide superior strength. Selected models of these nut inserts offer excellent resistance to pull-outs and torque-outs.

Features

  • Nut inserts have a one-piece design and are available in variants such as Allen nuts, jack nuts, weld-in thread inserts, threaded inserts & well nuts.
  • Most nut inserts have diverse-sized internal threads for easy installation / tightening via hand or a wrench.
  • Allen nuts allow internal wrenching of screws & bolts for a secure hold and decreased wrenching space.
  • Threaded inserts act as a sleeve with a threaded interior to securely hold bolts or threaded fasteners in thin or soft materials.
  • Jack nuts are used as blind fasteners in thin, soft, light-duty or brittle materials. These nuts provide a permanent connection using their reusable threading.
  • Well nuts are removable rivet nuts composed of two parts - a flanged rubber portion and an insert nut. These nuts need only one side of the hole for blind fastening in marine & wet applications. They also prevent galvanic corrosion by acting as an insulator between two materials.
  • Weld nuts are used in restrictive spacing by welding them to another workpiece and reducing gaps & seams for providing a secure connection.
  • Many nut inserts provide vibration resistance, a decorative / clean look & load distribution properties to the attached bolt / threaded rod / screw.
  • Most have metallic construction (steel / alloy steel / stainless steel / aluminium) for strength, rigidity & durability.
  • Most POP nut inserts have chloroprene rubber construction for resistance to vibration that can cause loosening, as well as for watertight sealing. Some jack nut inserts have steel construction.
  • Accurate Mfd Products nut inserts are available in threaded and Allen nut variants. They have hole sizes ranging from 0.202 to 1.605 inches.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to install well nuts?

  • Drill a hole of the same size as that of the rubber portion's diameter into the installation material.
  • Slide the well nut insert into the drilled hole till only the nut's flange is visible. Drill a hole in the material being attached as well.
  • Line up the two holes and insert a machine screw with a washer into the threading of the well nut.
  • When the machine screw is tightened into the well nut, the washer pushes down on the rubber flange to prevent it from turning, while deforming it on the installation surface to ensure strong holding force.

What are the benefits of using a jack nut?

  • These nuts can be fastened without distorting softer / thinner materials.
  • They can fasten securely in slightly oversized holes or uneven surfaces without burrs.
  • These jack nuts can be installed / removed easily.

How to install jack nuts?

  • Choose an appropriate manual / pneumatic tool or specialised jack nut installation tool.
  • Thread the bolt into the jack nut and drop this assembly into a pre-drilled hole after slotting them in the tool.
  • Squeese the tool until the fastener is set. Press the release lever and press the tool again to complete the installation.
  • When the user tightens these nuts, their body collapses on the blind side to form legs that securely grip the mounting surface inside, leaving a permanent & reusable threaded insert.

What are the advantages of a blind threaded insert over other nut inserts?

Blind threaded inserts need to be installed from only one side, providing installation and a strong bond. They also have ribbed walls to offer strength, production efficiency, durability and versatility under load.
