Gast 1/4 and 3/8 NPT air compressors / vacuum pumps are suitable for natural gas pipelines. They feature a thermally protected, shaded-pole motor for preventing accidents caused by overheating and have aluminium cylinders & heads for quick heat transfer. These pumps are equipped with sandwich valves to restrict foreign particles from lodging on valve seats.
Gast vacuum pumps produce air pressure or vacuum using a reciprocating piston. They operate continuously without oil and are employed in industrial applications like aeration, beverage dispensing and packaging.

There are many types of vacuum pumps, such as rotary vane, diaphragm, liquid ring, scroll and turbomolecular vacuum pumps.
Reciprocating air compressors (also known as Piston air compressors) are positive-displacement compressors that employ a crankshaft-driven piston and cylinder to compress the air. Successive volumes of air are confined within a sealed space.
A piston air compressor is oil-cooled, which results in the discharge of oil residue when the compressed air is discharged. Whereas rotary air compressors are usually equipped with two interlocking helical rotors fit with a little gap between them and soaked in an oil bath inside a housing.
Piston Compressors are usually constructed of one of these two materials - cast iron or aluminium.
