Bussmann high speed semiconductor fuses (Series KAC) are fast-acting, non-indicating semiconductor fuses which open instantly when exposed to overloads and short circuits. They are also called fast-blow semiconductor fuses and are extremely sensitive to changes in current flow and don't tolerate temporary overload currents or power surges. These semiconductor fuses are not provided with any indicator for identifying a blown fuse, so they are sometimes used with an indicating fuse block or cover. These UL listed semiconductor fuses provide overcurrent protection for solid-state components such as diodes and thyristors in variable-speed drives, uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), power rectifiers and other power electronics applications.
