5130, 5131, 5133 Series Straight Line Action Clamps
Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps employ push / pull toggle clamping action. These straight line clamps feature a compact design for single part & mass production of fixtures. They have a carbon steel body with black oxide finish and hardened plungers for strength & durability, as well as to prevent wear & tear caused due to abrasive environments. These clamps employ clamping force from the side rather than the top, to secure workpieces in applications where space is confined. They come with a lever handle that engages the plunger, which presses against a workpiece to hold it in place. This easy to operate push / pull handle easily moves the plunger of the clamp in and out along its axis. The ergonomic handle is slanted backwards to provide an adequate grip. Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps feature balanced construction for rigid holding and long life. They can be locked in two positions, allowing the operator to use them as either push or pull clamps. These clamps have an overall length of 12.89 inches, a maximum holding capacity of 5800 lb and handle opening angles ranging from 113 to 139 degrees. All models have through holes on a flanged / solid base that can be mounted to a worktable or flat surface. Selected models come with the Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to ensure that the over-centre locking condition is maintained and protected against unintentional opening. These straight line clamps feature a compact design to reduce space requirement for clamp installation & operation, thereby increasing ease of use in confined spaces for both single part & mass production.
Uses
These Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps offer a wide combination of features, making them adaptable for applications such as assembly, welding & heavy duty production in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are toggle clamps measured?
Toggle clamps are available in multiple variants having different holding capacities. The capacity of a particular toggle clamp can be measured by calculating the distance between the clamping plate (at its highest position) & the workbench.
How does a straight line action clamp work?
A straight line action clamp is manually operated using a lever or handle for pushing the plunger against the workpiece and holding it securely.
What are the benefits of using Toggle Lock Plus mechanism in Destaco manual clamps?
Destaco has incoporated the Toggle Lock Plus feature in many manual clamps to act as a secondary locking mechanism to ensure that the clamps stay in the over-centre toggle lock condition. This mechanism is useful when fixtures of the clamp are inverted, in motion or in a vibratory environment. It provides an extra level of safety for the operator and the workpiece. Does the red colour of the handle signify anything?
The red coloured handles alert the user of the location of the operating handle and when he should grab it. The red colour has no additional advantage to the working of the clamps.
