Destaco 607 Series straight line action clamps are ideal for light machining applications in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. These clamps employ clamping force from the side rather than the top, to secure workpieces in applications where space is confined. These units are made of steel for structural rigidity and resisting corrosion on exposed surfaces. They come equipped with a lever handle that engages the plunger to press against the workpiece & hold it in place while tensioning devices, fixturing, welding, testing, plastic injection molding, CNC machining, assembling and staking or light pressworking of industrial equipment. Destaco 607 Series straight line action clamps feature a compact design for both single part & mass production, and are capable of withstanding loads up to 800 lb. These 607 Series straight line action clamps have a flanged base with threaded holes for quick and secure installation and are available with round / square plungers for resisting torsional loads. We also offer 630 Series straight line clampsoffering load capacities up to 2500 lb.

A straight line clamp incorporates a sliding plunger to provide straight line clamping action. The plunger can be locked either in pulling or pushing direction for holding workpieces.

A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.
Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
There is no such significance of the colour of the clamp's handle, as it only represents a recognisable area. This helps operators in finding the handle quickly & easily.
