8100/8300 Series Pneumatic Swing Clamps
Destaco 8100 & 8300 Series pneumatic swing clamps employ a strong hydraulic clamping mechanism for quick swing-and-clamp movement to improve productivity. They are intended for quick clamping in secondary manufacturing operations on both metallic & non-metallic products. These units offer lock angle repeatability with high accuracy, thereby making clamping on an extremely small area possible. They have a block-style aluminium body that can be mounted from the sides or top. These pneumatic swing clamps have a magnetic piston ring for position sensing and are supplied with a clamping arm & spindle that offer a maximum holding capacity of 89 lb (40.37 kg). These pneumatic clamps can work under pressure up to 130 psi and at temperatures ranging from -14 degrees Fahrenheit to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. They are equipped with a manually adjustable threaded stud at the end of an air-powered pivoting arm that clamps down on the workpiece. These units are integrated with a pneumatic cylinder having an input port for connecting to a source of compressed air. These Destaco pneumatic swing clamps are non-locking clamps providing clamping force in direct proportion to the bore size and inlet pressure. The lightweight and robust construction allows for several millions of cycles of operation. These clamps are offered in left-hand and right-hand swing variants on Raptor Supplies.
If you want to order these swing clamps without the clamping arm, simply add -LA at the end of the MPN. (For example, 8115-LA or 8315-LA).
Uses
Destaco 8100 & 8300 Series block style pneumatic swing clamps are useful for a wide variety of applications including welding, light machining and assembly. They are ideal for the automotive and food & packaging industries.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a pneumatic clamp?
Destaco pneumatic clamps are portable pneumatic toggle clamps that are ideal for quick clamping in continuous production operations.
How do pneumatic clamps work?
Destaco pneumatic straight line action clamps have air-actuated cylinders that facilitate in temporary fixturing, assembling and welding applications in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.
How do swing clamps function?
Destaco pneumatic swing clamps are devices with hooks that are mounted either directly in a holder or in the tool body, for using the swing-away arm to increase unclamping & clamping speeds.
Does Destaco supply any water resistant clamp sensors?
Yes, Destaco also supplies inductive sensors designed in accordance with IP65 standards to ensure protection from powerful hydraulic jets, dust & heavy rain.
Which grease is recommended for use with Destaco clamps, when rebuilding?
While dealing with the brand's mechanical clamps, we would recommend using a coupling grease like Mobil XTC. In the case of pneumatic cylinder seals, using the Magnalube G grease would be ideal.
What is the function of a pneumatic cylinder?
Destaco pneumatic cylinders are mechanical devices that utilise compressed gas to generate force in a reciprocating linear motion.
What does holding capacity mean in terms of clamps?
The holding capacity or the holding force depicts the clamp's capability to hold down equipment or sheet metal on assembly lines or during other manufacturing processes.
