Frequently Asked Questions
What is a D clamp?
The D-clamp helps to strongly hold the insert in a boring bar for making accurate cuts.
What is Jet-Stream coolant?
Jet-Stream coolant is directed onto the insert chip interface to dissipate the generated heat and also lubricate the cutting edge of the insert, causing the chips to hydroplane over the insert surface instead of sticking to it.
What is the advantage of a negative rake?
Negative rake refers to the shape of the cutting angle of the carbide. When the face of the cutting tool slopes away from the cutting edge at an optimal angle, a negative rake angle takes place. Negative rake boring bars are safer, smoother and make more continuous cuts in very hard materials.
