Eaton capacitors are used in various applications, such as power factor correction, energy storage and voltage stabilisation. They consist of two conductive plates separated by a dielectric material (an insulator that can store charge). Capacitors can be used to store charge and release it quickly, such as in a flash photography circuit or a power supply filter. They can also smooth out voltage fluctuations in an AC power supply or block the flow of direct current while allowing alternating current to pass through, as in a radio's tuned circuit. Read Less
