What is the difference between sub-feed lugs and sub-panels?
Sub-feed lugs offer a secure and dependable connection for delivering electricity from a secondary source or remote location by joining sub-feed wires to a primary circuit breaker or load centre. They are used in conjunction with a breaker or other overcurrent protective device and lack overcurrent protection. Sub-panels, on the other hand, are independent panels with their own circuit breakers or fuses to offer overcurrent protection for circuits linked to the panel. They are utilised when the existing panel does not have enough room or capacity to accommodate more circuits.
