Spyder pilot drill bits are designed to attach to the arbour inside hole saws for preventing the hole saw from walking when it starts cutting. They are often used before the final hole is drilled, ensuring that the larger drill drives straight and the hole is created in the proper place.

Spyder pilot drill bits are designed to attach to the arbor inside hole saws for preventing the hole saw from walking when it starts cutting. These pilot drill bits feature high speed steel construction for resistance to wear & excellent toughness. They come with tungsten carbide tipped, multi-shaped teeth for durability & strength. These pilot hole drill bits are available in an overall length of 8.5 inches and shank sizes up to 1/2 inches.
Pilot holes are required if drilling into hardwood, laminate or require an accurately located fastener. They're also suitable if the wood is possible to crack or if appearance is important.
A punch is a small, slim tool with a pointed end that permits making a small dent in the work surface. This dent prevents drill bits from slipping when starting the pilot hole. Position the tip of the punch over a pencil mark and then strike the punch lightly with a hammer.
