WD-40 specialist cutting oil is suitable for use on all metals. It is designed to stop pitting and metal seizures, ease the mechanical processing of metals and decrease frictional heat accumulation & frictional forces.
Cutting fluids extend the life of the tool and improve the cutting condition. They are also known as coolants or lubricants since they are used to cool the cutting tools and minimise the heat produced during metalworking operations.
The key difference is that the cutting fluids can lubricate the interface between the cutting edge of the tool and the chip, whereas lubricants can lubricate between hard materials by decreasing friction between the objects.
