Wind meters are used to quickly & continuously measure the speed of wind and the quantity of air flowing.
Working Mechanism:
- Press the power / backlight button to turn Kestrel 1000 wind meter ON.
- Select the measurement mode.
- Use either of the navigation buttons to access each measurement screen.
- The instantaneous value will be displayed on each screen and updated once per second.
- Select the unit of measure.
- Press to scroll through the available units for that measurement.
- Hold the power / backlight button for 3 seconds to turn the unit OFF. Kestrel wind meter will automatically turn OFF if no buttons have been pressed for 45 minutes.

Q. How to store Kestrel 1000 wind meter?
A. If you plan to store your Kestrel wind meter for extended periods of time, do not expose it to temperatures below -30 degrees C [-22 degrees F] or above 60 degrees C [176 degrees F]. This can permanently damage the monitor. (Keep in mind that the inside of a car parked in the sun can get very hot.)
