PS Doors LSGF-36-PCY EdgeHalt full-height ladder safety gate is installed on 34-3/4 to 38-1/2 inch guardrail openings to prevent falling off of workers from elevated platforms, guardrail openings, mezzanines or ladderways. This self-closing full-height ladder safety gate can swing open up to 180 degrees in both left & right directions by inverting or rotating the unit.
Working Mechanism:
- For installation on standard railings, attach the toeboard flush to the gate using screws.
- Loosely attach the gate to the desired standard railing using U-bolts. The bolts should not be tightened to allow future adjustments.
- Align the hinge plate assembly's top to the railing's top while adjusting the safety gate's opening perpendicularly to the mounting brackets. Now tighten the U-bolts.
- Fix the gate hoop into the hinge plate according to the opening size. Make sure that the strike plate overlaps & contacts the opposite vertical railing.
- The toeboard should be mounted 1/4 inches above the floor surface.
- Swing the gate through its full range for a proper alignment check.
- Install plastic protective thread caps over the bolts / nuts to prevent their loosening.
- While entering the elevating platform or climbing a ladder, securely hold the ladder / railing and push the safety gate to climb onto the platform.
- While exiting the elevated platform, open the safety gate while maintaining a secure grip on the ladder / railing. Then, manoeuvre into the suitable ladder descending position and descend until the ground level.
