REED Instruments R5600 insulation tester is ideal for measuring insulation resistance up to 2000Mega-ohm and test voltages of 250V, 500V or 1000V in power tools, appliances, motors & cables. This insulation tester comes with test leads, alligator clips, batteries, a hanging strap, a kickstand and a hard carrying case.
Working Mechanism:
- Ensure that the device (to test) does not contain AC voltage.
- Connect the test leads to this meter.
- Set the unit's rotary switch to the appropriate test voltage.
- Connect the test leads' tips to the equipment being tested. The display should show '1' till the test is performed.
- Start measuring the insulation resistance by pressing & holding the TEST button till the testing is complete. Do not turn the rotary switch while the testing process is on.
- During testing, the LCD should show the test voltage and a high voltage symbol that flashes every 2 to 3 seconds. The main display should denote resistance.
- When the resistance reading is stable, note the value and release the TEST button while keeping the test leads connected to the equipment being tested for safe discharge.
Features:
- REED Instruments R5600 insulation tester offers an easy-to-read backlit dual display for showing both insulation resistance & test voltage simultaneously.
- Its lock function and hanging strap (included) allow hands-free operation.
- This insulation meter comes in a double-moulded plastic housing for enhanced protection.
- Its data hold function freezes the data / reading on the display for showing the measurement for a longer time.
- This Cat. III, 1000V safety-rated insulation tester is also equipped with a Lo ohm (low resistance) function for testing connections.
