RIDGID 36475 exposed ratchet threaded set is a manual pipe threader kit used to create tight, clean & accurate NPT threads on pipes and conduits, allowing easy connections.
Working Mechanism:
- Secure the pipe in a vise and use a pipe cutter for cutting the end of the pipe square.
- Use a pipe reamer for eliminating any burrs from the new cut end of the pipe by inserting the reamer into the pipe and twisting it.
- Select the die head with the accurate pitch for the thread you desire to cut.
- Insert this die head into the threader ratchet.
- Slide the pipe guide located over the pipe, at the back end of the threader.
- Make use of the riding pawl of the ratchet. While moving the handle of the threader downwards, apply pressure to the front side of the die head to initiate the threading process.
- Continue ratcheting the die head into the pipe till the die head is flush with the end of the pipe.
- Unscrew the threader from the pipe by using the handle.
