Outside micrometersare used to measure thickness or outer diameter of an object. These outside micrometers feature mechanical, digital or electronic displays. They have carbide, high carbon steel or stainless steel construction for strength, durability and abrasion resistance.

Starrett digital outside micrometers are designed for accurately measuring external dimensions of components in laboratories, as well as metalworking, automotive & manufacturing facilities. They feature a balanced & tapered frame for providing accurate measurements in narrow slots & tight spaces, a knurled ring-type lock nut for sure & quick locking and a ratchet stop for uniform adjustments during opening / closing of the micrometers. These Starrett outside micrometers have a built-in, rotating analogue digit counter for measuring thousandths of an inch (0.001 inches) and an extremely hard & stable, single-piece spindle with a vernier scale for measuring ten-thousandths of an inch (0.0001 inches). They are equipped with micro-lapped carbide measuring faces (both anvil & spindle) for precise measurements, even after long periods of use.
Choose from a wide range of these Starrett outside micrometers, available in 0 to 1 and 1 to 2 inch ranges. Raptor Supplies also offers Starrett outside micrometers in variants having no displays (requires manual reading).

Westwardelectronic digital micrometers measure outside diameters accurately with a flat anvil, for resolutions up to 0.001 mm. These micrometers are water resistant and feature an LCD screen to display the readings & a ratchet / friction action thimble to adjust the anvil. They come with a battery and carrying case. Starrettinterchangeable anvil micrometers have a set of anvils with graduations of 1 inch. The smooth ratchet action thimble and flat anvils ensure uniform pressure & quick adjustments on the surface.
